this seems like overkill, the parents say they never got any notice (i'm thinking that's not true but it could be) the library said the called, emailed sent notices
if the library did all that and the parents just ignored them and were trying to score some free books (you think they'd notice some books around that were not theirs) i put most of the blame on the parents, not sure what else the library can do if people keep ignoring notices and such...books aren't cheap
poor cop was embarrassed though
i'm wondering if the library will get a bunch of overdue books returned because of this

parent's fault. alot of people abuse libraries and never ever return them books.

I can't imagine branch Libraries being around much longer. No money for Libraries, most people use kindles/nooks. In 20 years if every city has 1 Library left I bet that will be a lot.

My wife and I get 5-10 books every week from our library.
Most are for the kids, but it's nice being able to read books without having to buy the damn things and add to the clutter, and neither of us are fans of reading electronic books.
