Minnesota has more than whacko Michelle Bachman to it's "credit". what is it with that state picking idiots to represent them? does the cold freeze their brains?

1st mistake- going into a bar that caters mainly to navy seals. (yeah i know a few centuries ago he was one)
2nd mistake- talking trash about the war.
3rd mistake- insults currently serving seals.
4th mistake- doing all of the above while some seals and their families were having a wake for a fallen seal team member, whose wife and children were also there.

if i were in charge of the BUDS training, i'd never invite that douche-bag back again.

won't hold it against him? he said more seals should have died in the middle east. saying something like that, where the family of a seal killed in action are holding a wake, in a seal bar? he's lucky he only got punched in the face.

I think there was considerable conversation over him having ever truly being a SEAL. They were called Frogmen before they were SEALs. One of the officers tried to get my dad to join them several times. He actually went out and trained with them enough to find out he didn't want to do it. When drunk he could tell the story that he had been a Frogman.

a long time ago a I had a good friend that was navy seal. He told me that the seals actually have a lot of respect for all the combat division in the military. I met a few of them through him as a rule they are not boisterous people but in fact very low key guys. They are not thrill seekers by the normal definition or at least the ones I have met.

A navy seal by the time he is done actually gets more training then an astronaut to get through all that and survive their mission which require a lot of team work you would have to be very professional.

SO saying that I don't think they have any real problem with Jesse Ventura at least nothing that dragging him out of the bar and giving him a beating wouldn't let them get over with.

When was the last time an astronaut was shot at?

Mangler had an accident on the way home from the liquor store. He was run off the road and crashed into a woman's clinic. It was one giant Pabst smear.

I worked with a former SEAL in the steel mill. He was half cracked in the head, but we got along fine. Most people were on egg shells around him though. He would sometimes go over the edge on people for no reason and they were always afraid he would completely lose it with them. I think the way I approached him though caused our success in a relationship. I eventually became him supervisor too. I liked him a lot and never got why people were so scared. I think their fears set him off a bit.

Frogmen is more of a colloquial term but you are correct. Prior to SEAL's, we had UDT (Underwater Demolition Teams). Jesse was in fact a qualified UDT member but was never a SEAL. SEAL teams were established a half dozen or so years after Jesse left the Navy. He is smart enough to not claim to have been one but allows the media to think what it will. When asked directly, he will give you an honest answer though.

wow...wanted to be punched. Go to any wake and say the person deserved to die = punched out.

The seal vs. not seal, war vs. no war debate doesn't even matter.
