you umm dont exactly have to buy them...there are certain programs that I dont think we are allowed to talk about on the boards anymore that can emulate most games onto the PC

I'm going to go with no...

It could be possible for a service like on-live to possibly get into retro gameing like that in the future.

I know you can get PS1 games on the PS store and for the handheld devices and many of the SNES games have been ported to various handhelds but I don't think there are any legal ways to play those games on the PC.

....

Trust me if I could find some reliable way to play PS1/2 games on my PC I'd be really happy the emulators they have are much better then they used to be but they are not as good as playing on the consoles.

Plenty of SNES games around and plenty of fully working emulators so no need to really worry there. Personally if the company still sold the units I'd be happy to pay for the equipment and games I still play many of those old games. FF series holds up very well so do the Mario games.

It is nice having the collection all in one place tho and not have to go digging around in storage for the old equipment. Currently I feel a little cluttered with my PS3/360 and PC games all over and constantly hunting for the discs pretty much sucks love steam for that aspect.

I can only hope someday someone get's wise and we are able to play these old games again.. I know there used to be webpages where you could play the SNES games on-line some of those might still exist I never fully trusted those sites tho.. So I don't know how good they were you payed a small fee I never wanted to give up my money or CC info to find out if it was legit.

Nothing illegal about emulators. They are totally legal software that have many totally legal uses.

It's some of the programs that people download off the interweb to use on emulators that can be illegal. That said, there are literally thousands of legal roms (public domain, fan created, indi-developed) that can be legally downloaded and are a blast to play.

Just don't try to get the illegal ones, not only would it make you a criminal, but it would also probably get you caught. The companies that own those intellectual property rights have deep pockets, powerful connections, and almost unlimited hatred for people that try to steal their crap.

You can probably get one for $5 or $10 on Half.com or Amazon.

Dont worry I will give my opinion anyways.
The PvP MMO is NOT a "niche" market, Mythic is just a "niche" company.

The PS1 and PS2 used the same video cables. You can walk into walmart and get one.
