It's really neat. We go to the power plant near Tampa to see them. There are usually about 10 or so along with some little sharks.

my cell camera is a POS, hence the lack of pics
there was a massive alligator on a log near the entrance/exit to the ST Johns river that many several manatees were just floating near... the gator didnt even bother

I used to live on the indian river as a kid. A couple times while swimming a manatee came up to us and let us pet it and what not. Cool stuff.
I wouldn't recommend swimming in it now though. It has gone to shit.

i dont think i have ever seen any mass of animals migrate anywhere, (aside from the chicks F_D stalks) and it was cool to see so many in one spot - many had babies.
i've seen onesy twosies when i lived on the hillsborough river, but nothing en masse.

i lived near hilton head sc for 5 years...and there were signs for boaters everywhere mentioning manatees.....but i never got to see even 1
