Went to work out today, first time all year. Hell, first time in 15 years...
Found out that I have no staying power, lasted all of 7 minutes on the elliptical thingy. Quit that early, went over to the mats to do some squats and lunges and leg stuff. Turned around, and had a wonderful hot shower.
Great first time. Least I didn't drive to the gym!
Listos: I suck. Not in a good way.

Good for you! It's going to be hard to start, of course, but keep coming back, try to make it a habit.
I've been working out five mornings a week for the past couple of years now. Stairs have never been easier for me, but I was pretty puny when I got started.
Good luck!
P.S. I recently joined Fitocracy...you get points and level up for each workout activity you log. Kind of an interesting concept, not sure I love it but I could see how it could help motivate some people.

If you think my opinion is idiotic, re-read yours.
Dont worry I will give my opinion anyways.
The PvP MMO is NOT a "niche" market, Mythic is just a "niche" company.

I figure I need something to keep me on the thing, to actually complete a workout or something. Still not finding that. I can't even tell myself "hey you paid for this, get your money's worth, idiot!" because I won a 6-month membership to the gym...

Start with small time intervals. 15 minutes on the elliptical, 15 minutes brisk WALK, not run, on the treadmill. After around two weeks, time varies, up to 20 minutes per. Or alternate with another machine.
Over longer time, increase to jog then running on the treadmill.

I wanted to do the C25K, had that on my phone and all, did it once, but then it got cold out, and I can't run in the cold. Wonder if I can do that on the treadmill. Least it's something to work towards.

Well also if you stick with time intervals like I suggested, it first gives you an achievable, but not overbearing, goal to accomplish and secondly gives you easy to track metrics.
So in a month or two when you are banging out 30 minutes faster then you know you have progressed a lot.

I find the gym time goes faster (when working out on a treadmill or elliptical device) when I read a book. The gym in the perfect place for a nook or kindle since you don't have to worry about the pages flipping around on their own when someone turns on a fan.
