Define anarchy.
What about Somalia, or many parts of Africa for decades, or South America?
Any place where there is no federal government or it lacks any power, qualifies as anarchy doesn't it?
Not necessarily about you but something the Ron Paul crowd needs to learn. Governments are governments. When they abuse their power it is an abuse of power. It doesn't matter if the pig kicking down my front door has a federal, state, city, county, or other patch on his sleeve. It does not matter.

I know for example that there are other types of authority and order aside from a federal government. The old mafia dons in Sicily or the old Russian mob for example that has their own form of order they install apart and/or despite any federal government. Living under a mafia don's influence just for example cannot technically be called anarchical since there is a fascistic sense of order there, however unfair or oppressive it may be.
I'm just not 100% clear what the definition of "anarchy" may be. Even in places like Afghanistan (pockets of the Afghani/Pakistan border any way) or Somalia, which many would say qualifies as anarchical, have their own form of loose order. Tribal warlords or gangs exert their own sense of order and justice there.

That's what I was getting at, that while they were subject to laws, there was no enforcement of them so it in effect was an Anarchist state for many years.
As was Alaska/Yukon

Well if they worked in the 1800's in isolation there's no reason they can't work now, it's totally viable. (Vote Ron Paul!)
