No clue, I just toss stuff in. The beef we buy at Costco and separate into random portions so even that I can't say except that it was a very full pan. Pretty much a can of this, a can of that till the crock pot is full.  (My crock pot is an old one, nice and big.)

I always thought it was interesting that the labels on the cans always read, "Chili con carne with beans".
I wonder what chili is like without any beans OR meat.

chili is the sauce made from the chiles that you later cook your meat in.
It can be be used in conjunction with a number of things.

Meaning that Regular Amerka has reduced "Chili" to a stew concoction that consists of basically any damn thing we want and then replace what WAS the main ingredient with however much chili powder you want in your chili.
That sounds pretty normal.

The next time I make it, I'm going to mix it up a bit. Use a variety of chiles, use beer instead of water and try a leaner cut of beef like sirloin.
