It's been 4 years.
At this point if have "6 figure" qualifications, but are working in a restaurant, it's not anybodies fault but yours.
I choose to go back to school to purse a degree in different field.
I am a electro/mechanical tech by training and certs, the thing with this field I would start back at the bottom as a worker due to having no degree in todays job market.
With all the factorys shuttered in the US no longer am I competing with other techs but I am now competing with engineers. In 2006 the job market was booming... there was a shortage of E/M techs and I had supervisory management training and experience. That is when I walked into the the windfarm supervisor job.
bad thing about my field is certifications and keeping them up to date, they are expensive if you want to renew stuff out of your own pocket.
All of my professional certs expired, I still keep them as proof that I held them at one point, but they are no use in a job hunt.
