Row C might not actually be the third row. A lot of places start Rows with AA or even AAA and Work to single letter seating.

I actually prefer corner seats in row 6-8, close enough to see the action, back far away to see most of the ice - the corner battles are AWESOME

Back when I had season tickets to the Blackhawks, the seats were in the upper deck. Didn't matter much however, after the first period you could get an usher to escort you to any empty seat in the building for a couple of bucks.
Being up next to the glass is neat, but you can see the game better up in section 304.
