The only reason I have a console is because my friends don't own gaming pc's
xbox for live, I pretty much only play bf3 and the majority of the time I'm using it for netflix

Current rumor mill has the PS4 and next-gen Xbox possibly out at the end of this year, if you've gone this long it might be worth waiting (if not for the new consoles, then at least for the associated price drop on the older ones)

I've got both. Use the PS3 more for Netflix and Blu-ray, with some gaming. Use the 360 more for gaming. But of late, I've been catching up on the stuff on PC that I bought on Steam sale over December.
