Can you blame them?

Their two potential candidates for president are:

1) A mega-rich out of touch hedge fund/equity guy with Swiss bank accounts and a history of flip flopping on every issue depending upon the crowd.
2) A serial adulterer who was ejected from Congress due to ethics violations and who has a history of being petty, spiteful and controversial.

Obama gets to look calm and cool, while moron two slings feces at mormon one, and vice versa.

Ya, I love them ranting on about Romneycare, live by the sword die by the sword. Heaven help him any of them when they deviate from the stupid party line. Only State's rights it seems mean something to them when it is something they can rally against.

Yea this dog and pony show is going to get even better. Wait till the repubs actually try to unite behind one of the current twits. Obama is going to beat them like a red headed step child. Going to be fun to watch.

I really really hope the Republicans get destroyed in the general election just to drive the point home that the current path they are on is completely misguided. I also hope there's a significant 3rd party vote just to rub it in their faces.


With all of that said, Obama might as well be a Republican, aside from a few key issues. His stances on the Patriot Act, the War on Drugs, and the NDAA (yes, he should have vetoed it on principal) are unacceptable. And I don't buy Obama's stance on his opposition to SOPA/PIPA either, the IP white paper released by his office in March 2011 shows he supported many of the measures in those bills.

The Republicans will rally behind anyone that is not Obama. Given the choice between Romney and Newt, I'm betting Ron Paul runs as a third party.

I'd like to add that I was really hoping for a truly inspiring leader to challenge Obama, but we haven't seen one of those in a long time, certainly not running for president. Maybe a full on collapse of the world economy could bring out the heroes?

The Republicans will not rally behind Gingrich. Everyone who has worked with him hates him.


Romney will come back in the polls (with a slight chance for Santorum). If he doesn't, Gingrich will mysteriously suspend his campaign due to a "medical condition."

It seems every Republican on ACF would vote for Newt over Obama any day of the week. I know MANY republicans personally that would vote for ANY candidate other than Obama, no matter what. If the Newt gets the nod, most will likely still vote for him. I have no clue if that would be a national trend, but Newt as the nominee will not turn Republicans to vote for Obama.
