I will not mention the bank's name.
I know two people now, me included, that have had their bank card turned off when suspicious activity was detected. Great, it was a great save!!!
And they never called to tell us. We had to figure it out and call them. Once can be a fluke, twice is a pattern. My last bank called me immediately. This recent one was apparently turned off for days before it was realized. This could put someone in a real situation.
No phone call, no email, no text, no message on their website. Just cut it off and let the customer figure it out.
Anyone else have this BS from their financial institution? Just curious if this lack of customer service is common.

To be extra clear, I am very happy they cut off my card. They assured us both that it is their policy to contact the customer when this happens, and yet, twice, no.

not a bank.... But a credit card did it to me. When i called them to find out why I had to get the BBB involved. Still not resolved but the account is closed and there is no bad mark on my credit reports.

I did not think of the BBB, at least it may be documented for others or maybe more there. Checking that now!
Also, we are getting very little, almost no, help from the local branch personnel about it. "Well policy is...." "We do not know why..." "We can not get anyone to tell us why....." Etc.

Last time I moved, I forgot that my zip code changed. So I was trying to get gas putting in the wrong zip code and it locked my card. I was never called by Wells Fargo. I had to call them to get it unlocked.
