ever heard of this?
measured 3 different ones all the same smaller size which sometimes is too small for the actual bed

I honesty have no idea. Up until I was 23 I had a twin bed, then I acquired another twin bed with the same mattress and wood frame, which I put together, then bought a strap to make them stay that way, then I bought a memory foam cover and a feather bed. Huge comfy bed for me.
No idea what real king size beds measure.

california king is bigger than 76x80. that's standard king size. 74x78 is almost a queen ffs.

here are the standard definitions.
I don't bother with king size beds, I had one once and my ex and I never had to touch again, which I know most married couples are like WOOHOO, get his ass outta my space!
but it ends up being lonely if you never accidentally touch.
