someone gave you the correct color code its b1b3bc for the background. i usually work on that background and then remove it for transparency so my edges fade naturally into it. if you work on a transparent background from the start you tend to end up with bad edges around whatever the picture is, especially if you have to sharpen it at all which you usually do if you want it to look decent.
edit-
this is what you get if you make that one transparent and clean it up a little.
it would look better though, especially around the edges, if i started from the full size picture and did the resize to icon myself. i could clean the edges up more like this but it would be some pixel by pixel editing work. wouldn't take long really but it doesn't seem worth it since you'd get a better result starting over from scratch with the original picture before it was resized.
