This costomer requires us to use AMP/Tyco Cat5e Riser cable. I really do not know how the hell you can have a KNOT AT 560' in a 1000' box of cable!!!!

I'm sorry but as soon as I saw that thumbnail I busted out laughing as I knew exactly what it was. I'm pretty sure if that happened to me I would have to kill someone... specially if it was a long or difficult run.

Just cut it and re-attach?

So what are you going to do? Re-wire just that cable or what?

I know nothing about networking. Would a knot like that really have any noticeable effect on the transfer?

well, since I moved the knot back down to the box, I unlooped it at the box end.

we started using a diff part# from Tyco, and this was the first location with this new cable... we ordered 66 boxes, and from what I can remember, this has happened to atleast 6 boxes.

the old Tyco type was flawless, and I have had zero problems with Comscope...EVER! I wish we could use Comscope with this customer though.
