A person wishing to renounce his or her U.S. citizenship must voluntarily and with intent to relinquish U.S. citizenship:

1 appear in person before a U.S. consular or diplomatic officer,
2 in a foreign country (normally at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate); and
3 sign an oath of renunciation

I guess that isn't terribly expensive for a price of bondage removal.

If you renounced the internet, not only is it free, you could save money!

Probably because this is an oxymoron. Why they let anyone do this is beyond me.

Australia I think does it also. There was a guy who worked where I work who could no longer afford paying those double wammy taxes and had to move back to that prison island

If you are a U.S. citizen or resident alien, the rules for filing income, estate, and gift tax returns and paying estimated tax are generally the same whether you are in the United States or abroad. Your worldwide income is subject to U.S. income tax, regardless of where you reside.

if you don't work in the us and pay taxes to the government and not renounce your citizenship you are a fool.

You know how easy it is to avoid having to pay anything when working/living abroad right?
