i think they just got the number wrong on the holding.

I remember when this famous Pats incident happened I was surprised to hear Jimmy Johnson say on the Fox pre-game that he used to have one staff member tasked with going to the opposing team's coach's box and retrieve the trashcan contents after every game hoping to gain any edge they could for the next time they meet that team. *So bear in mind that is just what he "admitted" to, no idea what else went on or goes on.

just one of the countless examples of the lack of innocence in the league.
i think Shottenhimers(sp?) was the best...something like what he knows makes spygate look like nothing at all.

I will forever wish that the NFL didn't have the tapes destroyed.
edit: I also know that they did it because putting a black mark on the Patriots is minor.
Putting an asterisk by all 3 Superbowl wins is huge.
It would have been amazing to see what a third party investigator thought about the Patriots argument that "everybody does it".

Like I said, I would have loved for there to be a formal investigation instead of "Well we destroyed the tapes. Case closed."

i would have too...then there would have been a clear cut, it's not just the patriots.
countless coaches stated that they had safeguards for taping...practice facilities were modified...most of them were NFC teams and new coaches also.
some even said it was done, some better than others, the pats just got caught.
