I always wonder about people who brag about how many guns and how much ammo they have "just in case the world falls apart". When it comes right down to it, I wonder how many of those people would be able to point and pull the trigger on another person. I'm kind of concerned for them either way.
How far are they allowed before it's acceptable to blow another person away? What if they're not threatening, just trying to cope during the hard times? What if it was a fit of temporary insanity (you DO realize that will happen in a crisis, right?), and what about dooming their family if that person was the provider?
We all talk about these economic collapse or zombie apocalypse scenarios and I bet more people would be holed up bawling than choosing to go Rambo on others.

We currently live in a Debt based society, however all Creditor based societies (ie- Gold Standard) eventually find that it sucks and go off it. Then they find that a Debtor bases society sucks and they revert.
It is a cycle that will never change.

the only thing a gun will do for you in a total collapse is to kill food if you're smart enough to get out of the city/suburbs with your car and several gas cans to get to a national forest reserve and set up a shack to live out your days away from people who are too dumb to do the same.
