The decay of society can be traced directly to the social anonymity the internet provides youth now.

Kids, teens, young adults, and even older less mature adults can hide in their caves everyday and say or do anything they want without ever feeling any social recourse.
This will breed a very bad future for social existence.
In my day, we did not lip off randomly for fear of repercussions, ie an ass beating. We did not disrespect our elders for fear of repercussions. We did not bully people without knowing it may back fire on us and did it some cases.
The internet generation today has no repercussions especially with absent or apathetic parents.
YES, parenting should correct this, but think about it there is too much freedom to be a freaky ahole without any reaction on the internet these days. facebook, twitter, email, messaging, video games....etc etc etc.
I fear this will just get worse in the next 10-15 years. MUCH worse. I have not even mentioned the affects this has already had and will continue to have on simple proper use of the English language.
Just an observation, many here may be the last of a dying generation.

I validate your point! But it sure seems like social interaction in youth today is severely lacking. When I talk to friend's kids and random kids in public and if you can get them to look up from their <device> they have no clue how to interpret gestures or tone much less how to interact with 3d people. Scary at times. *And my fear is, as I have already said, the next 10-15+ years will just get worse. Good Lord!
If you think your kids are different, I applaud you for either your direction or naivety.
Sadly, the military can not fix all of these kids.

And 20 years ago people said the same thing about whatever was changing society back then. Every generation things change, you just have to accept it. If nothing changed, we'd all be driving around in cars made like the tanks they had in the 60's, smacking our women for leaving the kitchen, and smoking in hospitals.
