In Storage Hunters (the new ep tonight) -- the container with the rats in it -- Is that normal?

I mean in the beginning 4 rats ran out of it when opened -- but rather than stopping it and getting an exterminator, they kept going and moved something and literally 40 rats ran out of the thing rightfully giving many of the bidders the willies.
But what concerns me is the possibility of exotic disease.
When faced by a rat infestation in a storage container from Asia, do they just let all the rats run out of it to who knows where?

Considering it's a scripted 'reality show'...those rats are probably disease free and planted for drama...

I agree its scripted... they pay waaaay too much for the units. And the prices they claim they can get for some of the goods are just outrageously laughable. Either they know some really stupid and gullible buyers or its scripted.

100% scripted. might have been real once, but once they realize they make more on tv show than selling crap. they over bid on everything.

I am pretty sure there are very few reality shows still left in the wild. Most of them are born and kept in captivity these days.

One of the few reality shows that I enjoy is An Idiot Abroad. The whole premise of the show is that it IS scripted in order to annoy the hell out of Karl.
"What's that? You have a layover in Thailand? Well in that case, we've set you up on a date with a lady-boy. Enjoy!"

Show me pictures of the rats, and I'll tell you if they were planted or not...
Animal Planet just recently did a show with a "rat infestation". I found it really funny that all their supposed wild rats had markings that you only find in domesticated rats...
