As of the census of 2010, there were 5,907 people, 2,066 households, and 1,751 families residing in the city. The population density was 318.7 people per square mile (123.1/km²). There were 2,155 housing units at an average density of 116.3 per square mile (44.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 94.41% White, 0.54% African American, 0.08% Native American, 3.88% Asian, 0.15% from other races, and 0.93% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.59% of the population.

There were 2,066 households out of which 40.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 80.3% were married couples living together, 2.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 15.2% were non-families. 14.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.86 and the average family size was 3.16.
