I've seen Fossil watches that have blinking LCD displays that switch between some LCD pattern to a mirror finish...I suppose you might be able to make a phone screen with that same tech.

I believe that exists as well.
I wonder if that "mirrored" LCD display is more reflective than the shiny plastic/glass itself - i.e. would it function as a signal mirror better because of that in a survival situation?
