Hawk it is sandbox/free roam. Think a world made of legos and mix in zombies and suicide bombers. It is really love or hate I guess but I enjoy it. If you get it our server is up and has a decent little community, just shoot me a PM with your username and I'll add you to the whitelist.

Once the modders get things current. Shouldn't take long now that there is an official release. They don't like modding against early releases since things change so much.

At first I thought the idea of the game was stupid, but the possibilities are endless, really. Just grab a pick and start digging and after a while you get into the flow of things.


Wait for a bit and you can get it for the Xbox, Mike. It'll be a ton of fun, I think. I've been playing a similar game on the Xbox called Totalminer: Forge, and it's really entertaining. A buddy of mine built a dam because he works for one of the PUD's around here, and OMG the amount of detail you can get into with just some square boxes is amazing. We're waiting for Minecraft to come out on the Xbox so we can play it together, as we're having lots of fun with TM:F, and Minecraft will have tons more content.

The bukkit guys have joined Mojang.

We'll be getting the modding API for real now.

Yeah I see this as being great or going horribly wrong. I hope it goes great though. We'll see if it all stays black box and the modding community loses a great resource, effectively killing a great project, or if they help make some changes and open the doors for the modding community.
