Holy hell, I just got tossed off my feet outside by the craziest wind storm. I actually had to double check if we had a tornado watch or warning because of it Sounded like a freight train bearing down as I was walking up the walkway, was windy out by major gust caught me by surprise and pasted me. Scary crap.

I'm hurtin' like hell, apparently not enough dignity to soften the blow from being blown over. Kind of giggling about it now but damn near pissed myself from the surprise lol.

(CNN) -- A devastating storm system moved across the United States on Friday, spawning a slew of tornadoes that contributed to at least 28 fatalities in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio.

National Weather Service meteorologist John Gordon reported Friday afternoon the agency had about "half a dozen reports of tornadoes on the ground," as well as reports of "significant damage" -- making his comments before some of the worst twisters were reported.

"This is an enormous outbreak that's going on right now across Kentucky and the South," Gordon said. "It's crazy. It's just nuts right here."

Southern Indiana was particularly hard hit, with Indiana Department of Homeland Security spokesman John Erickson saying three had died in Jefferson County as a result. Sgt. Rod Russell with the Indiana State Police said later that three people also were killed in Scott County.

It was crazy here last night. (East Tennessee) No confirmed tornadoes touched down (that I know of yet), but wind gusts up to 80mph and a lot of damage. Ripped the cover over the pumps off the local gas station and all the glass in the front of the store is gone. Place is a wreck, crap all over the roads in town (lawn chairs, garbage cans, tree limbs, all kinds of junk). Power is out over half the town. A couple of fatalities from falling trees a few miles down the road, one landed on a guy and his wife in their car in their own front yard, killed her, he is in very bad shape. Lots of hail, I mean a LOT of hail. It was a couple of inches think on the ground around 11PM last night. Just a mess.

Think we escaped the worst of it though. Hope you didn't bruise anything too bad. Getting knocked down can really mess you up.

we had some wild winds last weekend, I got caught by a gust that pushed me around a bit in the Costco parking lot, if I hadn't been prepared I might have shared your fate.

I hope you recover quickly, falls are so much worse when you're older than when you're a kid... scraped hands and knees were so much easier to deal with.
