I have to wonder if the 'I'm a Mormon' ads I've been seeing are to help him campaign, though. Timing is awfully suspect...

I have heard and read exactly zero instances of evangelical republicans being at all hesitant about his being Mormon.

Every mention of the right-wing wacko religious nuts not wanting him because he "isn't christian" has been from the left.

I'm not sure willful ignorance leads to bliss but you are welcome to try.

Are there any published examples of it? I'd welcome a reference.

Robert Jeffress

R. Philip Roberts

Google either name.

It's not as if folks in general are going to come right out and say, "I'm not voting for him/her because he/she is a Jew/Mormon/Negro/Asian/Gay" but you get the jist from patterns of speech and behavior if you want to.

I miss Jack Kemp. Reagan would get past these primaries - too moderate.

I'm not sure if you are aware but those that tend to win the states tend to win the most delegates...

The media assumes the delegates are going to vote for the winner, but they can vote for anyone they want

The delegates almost always vote for whomever either wins their state and or caucus location unless they get to the convention and its obvious whom is going to win to show solidarity. Its not like Gingrich or Paul is going to get 10% of the delegates in the primaries and they are all the sudden going to change their minds. There would be voter rebellion.
