By lately I mean in the past few years it seems amazon gets slower and slower. 4 business days and still they have not yet shipped my items. ( I am talking about items sold by Amazon LLC) However if you have sold on Amazon before as a 3rd party seller, they ask you to ship your items within 2 business days. They don't even follow the same standards that they request of their sellers?

What's another great general place to shop online with quicker handling time?

Get Prime... I cannot recall getting a package after 2 days from ordering.

I am thinking perhaps because so many people are prime members that all the normal orders are put on hold.

depends what you're buying...newegg is always incredibly fast for me, but they have a warehouse in Memphis because FedEx's main hub is here...so I get stuff in 2 days or less almost always except the rare occasions they have to ship from another warehouse. But I can't buy everything from newegg.

I don't usually have trouble with amazon shipping it, it's usually ups that I have trouble with...the last few items I've bought from there have gone from their warehouse to some city way out of the way, and then to me if I'm lucky. when I bought my kindle a few weeks ago, it shipped from Indiana, and went to south carolina...I live just outside Memphis, TN. silly stuff like that.

Wouldn't know, I have Prime. They hooked me with the free year. I probably save more with it than it costs...

Amazon Prime ftw. I sometimes get packages the next day.

I'm sure it helps that we're in a major city but we've often gotten things the next day with Prime as well. I order something at 10:30 the night before and I have it by 3:00 the next day - best two day shipping, ever.

I think my theory is right. Prime members are backing up the normal packages.
