The big x-ray solar storm that hits tomorrow will significantly distort the magnetic field of the earth pushing the auroras south... It is predicted to extend approximately to Northern Massachusetts and that latitude going west.

When I used to live in Northern Alberta near the Northwest Territories...
You could go out some nights, lay on your back, and it was like you were in a fully lit room. Sky from end to end was all glowing, greens and purples. And it didn't just last a few minutes...you could be out there for hours.
I miss that now, living in the city, close(er) to the US

Heh we finally reached 6 from this more anemic than predicted CME -- BUT your aurora forcast now looks closer to the one I posted. Supposedly there are some nice auroras out there anywhere in canada and in the northern reaches of the USA.
