Arent they too close to winning to draft some 3rd round scrub QB and hope for the best?

I think so, but what are the alternatives? Why get in to a bidding war for an unproven commodity? Remember Kevin Kolb?

I think Kolb was different, even when he did play he sucked prior to going to AZ. A lot of people were down on him. I havent heard anything bad regarding Flynn. I also dont think the bidding war will be as big as you think. He'll get paid a good chunk of change but he wont be getting anything near top tier QB money. The Seahags lose nothing but money by signing him and if they front load a contract and load it with incentives and outs it wont be all that bad.

It really depends on the bidding war IMO. If someone comes in with a crazy number, I don't think we'll try to meet or exceed it. If it's reasonable (keep in mind our GM knows Flynn well), I think we'll be in the running. I think they're OK going with TJack another year and taking a QB in probably the 2nd round. Not sure there's the talent of QB to use the 1st round pick...but you never know.
I just want them to get Red signed, then maybe the Heater.
