apparently they where doing hi-power maintenance turns, basically take the plane out some place remote on the field, set the brakes, then run it up to take-off/flight conditions, and hope to god the brakes hold.
in their case the brakes failed.
didnt you ever take a plane up to high power?
they should have have that plane chained (tie downs) and chocked
depended on if we had a pilot to taxi the plane.
no pilot yes we chained it down I was turn qual'ed
if we had a pilot we would taxi it out to a inactive runway and do the hi-power turns there.
