There used to be two parts of the SATs; now there are three parts. Since each part is worth 200-800 points, you now get 600 points for writing your name.

I was lucky enough to have taken the SAT before the writing part. 1280 out of 1600 looks much better than a 1500 out of 2400.
I'm great at papers. But writing tests have consistently been awful for me.
