i love the live and unharmed lizards.  i'm not so much a fan of the dead birds and dead rodents. i still don't know what the rodents were. they had gopher teeth and muddly little paws but they were big fat things that were super soft and fluffy so not at all like a gopher.

My daughter got a big fat rat today, for her birthday. The cats are so thoughtful.

yeah i know that's why they do it. and i praise her every time she gives me a gift. she gets a treat and pets and love for it. then, since it's generally a lizard that's unharmed, i place it outside in lizard utopia. my cats have not discovered that area of the yard or if they have, they know they can't catch the lizards i put there because there's 9 billion places they can hide easily that is completely out of reach to the cats. i'm not upset that my cats do this. it is their nature and that's fine. it just makes me sad when the animal is dead and i can't do anything to help it.

the next time one of them brings in one of the big fat fluffy gopher-like things and it's dead, i'm going to take 400 pictures of it and post that isht every where for identification so i know wtf it is in the event they give me one that's alive.

Even adult birds easily die from the trauma caused by a cat. Poor fledglings.

I've never seen any dead lizards, they get rats, voles and birds. I hate seeing the dead birds.
