KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (AP) -- The U.S. paid $50,000 in compensation for each villager killed and $11,000 for each person wounded in a shooting rampage allegedly carried out by a rogue American soldier in southern Afghanistan, Afghan officials said Sunday.

What else can America do when modern politics has dictated that apologizing is always wrong and unamerican?

Giving money is nice but the amount is obviously too low.

Good move. No amount of money will bring someone back... but this is more than most innocent people killed by the U.S. over there have got.

I am sure that it is a pretty big amount over there and hopefully it is at least symbolically showing that we are sorry.
