Are you sure they are apathetic? or do they just hear and see the same thing day in and day out that it doesn't phase them anymore? And who are you/she to judge what is detrimental to the patient? Are you guys licensed psychologists? I know at my jail we have a "crazy ward" (we call it the Secure Special Needs Unit) and having spent plenty of time up there... I can tell you that a lot of what you folks might think is a cry for help or needs attention is just daily ritual for the nut jobs. Sorry if I don't jump up out of my chair every 5 minutes because Mr. Magoo said his hand is missing when he's simply pulled it back into the sleeve of his jumpsuit.
