I had that once and it was actually because they hadn't sanded down a tooth correctly so my bite was off. I assured them it was more than that because it hurt all the way to the bone and didn't even feel like a tooth ache at all. Also it had been a long time since I had had any tooth work done. Well, low and behold they sand down 1 tooth and within a few hours my entire jaw felt better.
Or it's cancer.
