i was trying to help someone with a custom icon - and it seems to meet all the requirements in terms of dimensions and file size, but when i upload it to VN it doesn't appear to be animating.
here is the icon i created:

and here is what is showing up as a VN icon:

does anyone have any suggestions? is there something really basic i'm missing?

Animated icons don't work any more, the uploader compresses them even if they are the right size and that instantly brakes any animation

Hello, I'm the person Garth has been kind enough to help.
Is there any way this can be fixed? I'm assuming IGN adds new animated icons on their own, or for moderators.

unfortunately there isn't a way around it right now. i wish there was. all of the previously uploaded animated gif's still work but we can't add more. we also don't know if it will ever be fixed

I wish they'd kill the rest of the animated icons too. Annoying, they are - even the ones I've made myself.

While we can't add, I can replace a current admin icon with a new one (80x80 and following the old standard rules).
