wasn't gonna post these, but since no one has posted photos for a few days, what the hell, right? My wife and I webmaster for a local band, and during their New Years Eve party, I took these of the sound boards...I think I should have opened the aperture up a tad to get a little be more DoF.

First image the shallow DoF works due to the focal points placement in the frame, really neat image. The second one is a bit shallow for my taste, if that one had been opened up a bit more it would be a great capture as well! Nicely done!

those are the perfect example of "well, it looked nice on the 3" display on the back of my camera" LOL
I totally agree on the 2nd one about the shallow DoF.

Yeah that sneaky LCD can never be trusted. Mine are always so bright and saturated that I ignore them entirely apart from the histogram and checking the framing / blinkity blink factor of subjects.
