I have the following life logs, in Excel spreadsheets:

Nutrition. I records my eating habits

Sleep Log. I record my sleeping habits

Work Out Log. I record my exercising habits sub categorized: Core, Cardio and Strength (weights).

Psycho-Spiritual Log. I sub-categorize as follows: Meditation, Lectio Divina, Sexual Research, Grouping (I go to mass and have breakfast with a group of Spiritual older men-I'm the youngest) and Addictive behaviors (I monitor what I do and how often). I forgot Social. This has subcategories, i have not determined yet.

Aesthetics. I sub-categorize as follows: postmoderm philosophy, playwriting, poetry, sculpture, painting. I associate tasks for each project in progress and monitor activity.

Journal: I record innermost thoughts.

For Work I use the Franklin Covey system

I'm not obsessive compulsive with this. Things are fine exactly as they are. But it takes a modest effort and you can review your life with more than a selective memory. Does this qualify me as a nerd?

No, keeping life logs would not qualify you for being a nerd, but posting here about them probably does. Then again, I imagine most outposters would burst into flame if they saw the noonday sun. Most busy professionals have to keep journals to avoid missing deadlines and meetings, what you're doing is just a short extention of that. I also keep logs of my workouts and my profession requires constantly updating my CV so everyone can see what I've been doing lately.

Pain in the ass, but it comes with the territory.

I've tried a couple of time to do the same thing. I do not have the dedication to though, the best I can do is record my weight daily on a calendar...the holidays haven't been good for my health =D

Lady, people aren't chocolates. D'you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling.

I don't want to review my past, I want to anticipate my future.

So no, I don't keep logs or lists or make notes about anything. I understand the concept of learning from your past and building upon that...I just don't find it appealing and have no desire to try it.

You're so old you probably wouldn't have time to put it into practice anyhow, Ptilk.

I did at one point but then found it made me dwell on the past and that i wasnt using them to effectively plan the future.

Now i only keep records for stuff that requires detailed recall ( ex tax records).
