I'm not going out in 16 foot swells. I did that once in Santa Barbara. I got some incredible rides on some really gnarly surf. Then I got caught in the beach break and nearly drowned. I actually started yelling for help before I manged to ride into shore.
I max out at about 6 foot.

I once shared a gallon of red mountain cheap wine with a couple friends at The Wedge in Newport ( you know shore break) and went out in El Nino surf condition. God watches over drunks. My original board was a 10' 6" Jacobs

I give a nod of respect to anyone that surfs.
That's the one thing I didn't do while in Cali; year and a half and I never got up the stones to try it.
But I don't regret not regretting it!

Standing invite and SRC can back me up. Come back to Cali and we can fix that Moe.
Any non pedophile Outposter who shows up in San Diego can use my board and try surfing. I'll take you out and show you the basics and you will at least ride a wave. I can't promise you will stand up, your balance is your issue, but I will get you to a safe beach with a long stable board and you will surf.
I don't go much anymore and I should so this would be an excuse for Fat Badger to get off his ass.
