This is an actual HP repair slip that came back today. The beginning has been slightly paraphrased.

“Thank you for choosing HP to repair your product. HP’s evaluation…..”

The following is an exact reproduction:

“We identified an issue with your software

As a result we restored your system to its original factory setting.

We identified another issue with your Audio board

As a result, we replaced it and it is now in working order.

We identified another issue with your main board

As a result we replaced it and it is now in working order.

We identified another issue with your Wireless card

As a result we replaced it and it is now in working order.”

Begin my comments:
So, you discovered the motherboard, audio card, and wireless card were defective but still felt the need to erase the original user’s data?

It means they tossed your system and stuck you with a refurb.
