Sadly it was our money they wasted. But as the liberals often say, 45 million is just a drop in the bucket. Since it failed the problem is clear. They did not spend enough to make it work. Perhaps a billion will do. Rewarding failure.

Project Shield was supposed to make citizens safer. But in the end, the $45-million Homeland Security program more resembled a disaster, wasting taxpayers’ dollars and failing to make a single citizen more secure.
The failed Cook County initiative was replete with equipment that failed to work, missing records and untrained first responders according to a report by the inspector general of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Nowhere does it say that they wanted more money for it. It does say that the program was ended though.
It also blames a bi-partisan cast, but yah yah yah, LIBERAAALLLZZZZZ!!!!ONE1!!1!!

I'm just following the standard liberal playbook. If one of your wonderful programs fails it is because it did not have enough money. The solution is to reward failure by giving them more of other people's money. While I do go overboard on the "Liberal" thing even you have to admit that this is the most common excuse/solution for the failure of a government program.
