I was watching this program where a select group of regular Americans gave their opinion of the 2012 candidates and what they thought was important criteria needed to elect a president. It was to my dismay that the majority of these opinions were simply parroted talking points of popular political media. They parroted the same criticisms of Obama as well.

Some of the zombie like responses from this bunch:

"Obama wants us to be a socialized country"

"Iran must be stopped at all costs"

"Obama's foreign policy has been a total disaster"

"we must fix the economy soon before it is irreparable"

What a sad state we are as political education goes.

The media selected a group of people, asked them questions and learned that that select group of people gave the same points that they've been barraged with from media for endless ages and I was shocked.

What's your point man?

The presidents job is not to repair the economy. It is to make conditions right to encourage growth. Presidents do not repair crap.

Not that it would be better, but I would caution you to not trust the sample displayed on TV as being representative of the national body as a whole. It's part of the problem - some TV editor somewhere is deciding which of the thousands of people that they interviewed fit the demographic they are trying to sell crap too. That's what makes it on. The quality of their responses doesn't have much to do with it.
