I'm on the fence about this one.

I think direct drug advertising is to blame for some of it.

I think we've gotten a little lazy and eccentric as a people - that also plays a part.

But we are also making some very interesting discoveries about the brain lately. And it's the area of the body we understand the least about. That we would be diagnosing more issues as we learn more about the brain makes sense, no?

I would wonder how much of our illness is environmentally caused in all facets.

Some mental illness is not real. Some is real. I think it needs to be treated if it affects your life in ways like your job and relationships.

I am aggressively skeptical on this and still believe its mostly an effort to label everyone in show form.

I don't see the problem. Jealousy that no one gave a sh!t about your issues and you had to deal with them yourself your whole life, and now others in the same position actually get some help?
