I didnt realize big oil has controlled USA *THIS* long.

Just saw documentary of Charles Hamel, man who tried to take on all the oil giants of the 90s after finding out how their joint Alaskan pipeline was poisoning the state as whole. He got harassed by big oil mercenaries, threatened by lawyers and even coerced by politicians yet he "won" in papers only to have nothing happen. Thanks to Bush Sr, Big oil can hire thugs to steal your trash, illegally enter your apartment to steal papers and even send undercover agents to try entrap you and get away with it. Bush Sr administration vetoed federal charges on the companies involved, making only "punishment" for the big oil that they had to plug the leaks on their trans-Alaskan pipeline and that they weren't let to drill "as much" on the national forest as they'd have liked.

Pretty sure it goes back a tad bit further than that... Heck, just research the findings of the Exxon Valdez disaster.

High gas prices is the goal of many liberals. They want it to force conservation and force poor people out of their cars and onto public transportation

that's what I was thinking. looking at some history on the gas charts.. it may have gotten that low in 2008 after it dropped $3 a gallon I certainly don't remember the 3 month gap of cheaper gas

Yes it's because of Obama that oil is above $1.85 when he took office.
Oil plummeted during the start of 2009. The fact it is higher shows the global economy is stronger.

Once you set out your trash you have made it where you've given up interest in the contents.
To be "entrapped" you would have to do something that you were not predisposed to do (thus it almost NEVER exists)

Oil hasn't been in the $1.8X range since WW2 era... Inflation adjusted that like almost $20 Bucks. What the eff are you people smoking?
