Amazing what they go through on a daily basis. The stress they are under, the hell they need to deal. This is why i tend to give them the benefit of the doubt. A few bad apples seem to give the entire dept a bad wrap yet the majority of them do whats right and protect our slimy little asses for very little pay.

Little pay? Cops get paid very well. They do a shit job but they aren't doing it for very little pay. I have a LOT of law enforcement as clients I know what they make in NY, MA, and CT. Local, county, state, and federally.

Let me rephrase that. For the shit they have to deal with daily and the risks they take, they dont get payed enough. Basic street cop where i live starts off at 28k a year.

I am not sure where you are from so I am not going to argue about basic pay, but I'll refer you to this.

http://policeofficersalary.com/starting-police-officer-salary-php/

The average starting salary for a police officer in the United States is $51,410 per year, according to police officer salary statistics

That seems a little high for 1st year cops, but you don't see many first year cops. I think that number probably includes ALL first year law enforcement.

Now in MA, CT, and NY I see cops after a couple of years in the high 70s. State police are over 100k.

I agree with you 100% they do a shit job I would never want to do, but they are paid very well.

I did not make 50k a year as a captain with 10+ years, fwiw. That was in a department of around 150, not a huge area but not Mayberry either.
