It's the single member voting system that favors a two party system. As long as you have that you will always make it very hard for a 3rd (let alone 4th or 5th) party to actually matter.

The establishment press (including talk radio) and the people who own & run it are certainly one of, if not the biggest enemies this nation has.
Without the establishment press, the support for cultural Marxism, ultra big government, endless wars (on terror, on drugs, on [you name it]) of oppression would not have the support that they do.

The system at the state and local level is rigged by both parties to discourage real third party challenges.
