There is a numerical "hole" between 2 and 2.5 which allows part of the value of 2 to "pass through" the numerical 2 and therefore increase it's value beyond the original 2. Thus the value of the second two is actually 2+ and we round that up to 3.

Thusly, 2+ + 2 = 5. Why don't any of you believe in my crazy math?!? It clearly poses a lot of questions that shouldn't be asked and should be considered equally with real math...
