I feel you pain, same with city politics of Detroit, which actually impact more so than national politics.
Its exactly why I believe the primaries say much more about a voter than the Presidential election; more choices = better able to identify someones positions and beliefs.

Why we don't have ranked choice voting, or the option to vote against a candidate and not just for one, or any other variety of options to make our representative democracy more functional is beyond me.
