I never understood the attraction of WOW to so many.
Bored the hell out of me. I played for a couple of days and never went back.

It's more about the people playing it than the game itself. It's pretty much a cookie cutter MMO, but it's the fact millions of people are playing it which turned the game into a social outlet for the geeks of the world.

Wow revolutionized MMOs for experienced gamers. Pre-wow, you never got to utilize movement as a tactic. (Not talking about run through LOS spamming) The speed of play and depth of precision available won me over. Look at the difference in movement! Forget about AC, UO, EQ or DAOC. Wow blew them into nostalgia with their movement fluidity.
