Unless he was doing stand up he is unfunny in perpetuity and that includes his sitcom. Most of the lulz came from his underpaid co-cast

He is very funny. He is the straight man on his tv show. Many shows have the stars as the straight man.

He did ok on his show. Andy Griffith did great as a straight man on his show and so did Bob Newhart

Most of the commercials were total suckage.
The Doritos one with the dog was funny. Other than that most of them were snoozers. It's really gone downhill.
