Nephew

My nephew keeps trying to compete with me. We went on a bike ride today. At the half way point he was really beat. I said we should have a handicap race. He would take a short cut back and I would make the full ride. As I had about 4 more miles than him I figured he would finally have a win under his belt. I mainly did it because I was tired of waiting for him.
I got home and no Alex. I want back out to try to find him. When I got home he was there. He took a shorter route than we agreed on but tried too hard to beat me. At the top of the last hill he had to stop and puke for a while. I told him we would ride more he could hang in there a little better. His main mistake was trying too hard. Slow and steady until you can go fast and steady.
Best trash talk of the day. "Dam I'll have to wait until you are 80 before I can beat you." "Maybe but remember when I'm 80 you'll be over 40."

Sorry, I'm a conservative. I want those who beat me know they beat my best; something to be proud of. This, "let them win but be sure they know it was given to them" is a liberal thing.
